82. Raising a Strong-Willed, Anxious, or Perfectionistic Kid? What These 3 Kids Have in Common (& How to Understand Your Child Better!)

What do strong-willed, hesitant / anxious, and perfectionistic kids have in common? It might seem like nothing at face value … but actually, all three of these behavioral patterns have the same roots.

In this week's episode, I share how being a strong-willed child, a child who tends to hesitate or be slow to warm up, and a child who tends toward perfectionism are all connected. I give examples of what each of these behavioral patterns looks like and then also help you understand how these patterns are all connected to being highly sensitive.

Here’s the thing: Human beings will go to great lengths to avoid discomfort – and this is especially true for our highly sensitive / deeply feeling kids. After listening to today’s episode, you’ll be able to identify how your child is coping (or not!) with the discomfort of big emotions.
